The Hurricanes and Swift Current Broncos will play each other twice over the next five days and tonight is their first of four meetings this season. The Hurricanes come into tonight’s game after a hard fought 4-3 OT win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on the weekend. That win gives them a record of 5-6-1-0 in the Central Division and 8th overall in the East Conference. The Broncos are 2nd in the East Division (4th in Conference) at 5-5-3-1 and dropped a 5-1 decision to the Prince Albert Raiders on Sunday.
In 2011-2012, the Broncos won the season series 3-1 with the lone win for Lethbridge coming on December 17th (their Teddy Bear Toss night) when they skated away with a 4-1 victory in front of 4,100 fans. Albin Blomqvist and Sam McKechnie scored their first career WHL goals against the Broncos last year and leading the way against Swift are veterans Russ Maxwell (1G, 2A) and Graham Hood (2G, 1A) who both have 3 points.
