Brian McNaughton named president after not being elected to the board a year ago and receiving the least amount of votes this year - maybe this is an indication of the lack of interest in a board run hockey team and that it's time the board does the right thing and pursues a private owner for the Lethbridge Hurricanes?
Being an active season ticket holder of the Hurricane for several years and finding the WHL as an exciting product and good value, as a Hurricane fan I do feel some what let down with the lack of on ice success, understanding that WHL teams do have cycles of building a winning team, it would seem that our board run team continues to start over time after time, missing the winning part of the rebuilding cycle?
A lack of success on the ice and financial loses appears to be a formula that is acceptable to a board with no financial accountability or commitment.
It takes a winning organization to creates fan support, something that this board has not been able to do recently or consistently.
Although I do support the Hurricanes as a season ticket holder, I'm not sure it should be my responsibility to subsidize the organization as a Lethbridge tax payer - again, with a board run organization with no accountability, it seems that this has become a common and acceptable practice.
Time to move on for the good of everyone.
