Hurricanes looking for Billet Families

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are excited for the upcoming season and now is your chance to get involved!!

The Canes are looking for billet families to host its players aged 16 – 20 for the 2012- 2013 hockey season.

Becoming a Lethbridge Hurricanes billet family is a rewarding experience. Not only do you become part of our team, but a big part of our players lives and many of those relationships last long after the players WHL career comes to an end.

The Egger Family (pictured) have billeted for 4 years and last year had Defenceman Spencer Galbraith in their home. They marvel at how the players manage all that is expected of them as members of the WHL. The Eggers say “raising” a junior hockey player is educational, emotional, entertaining, and fun and they love the wonderful new friendships they have made. “People often ask me what it’s like billeting a hockey player – well it’s like having a child of your own. We don’t think of Spencer as a ‘billet.’ He is part of our family.”

If you are interested in potentially opening up your home to members of our WHL club, please contact Associate Coach Matt Kabayama at (403) 328-1986 to learn more about the billet program.
