The Hurricanes and Swift Current Broncos are facing each other for the second time this week and the second of their four meetings this season. On Tuesday, the Canes posted a 4-0 shutout over Swift Current thanks to a 37 save performance from Ty Rimmer and goals from Russ Maxwell, Sam McKechnie, Jamal Watson and Spencer Galbraith. The Hurricanes come into the game after a 6-1 rout of the Regina Pats while the Broncos come enter the game after a 5-2 win over the Kootenay Ice. Tonight’s teams sit 4th in their respective divisions while the Hurricanes are 8th in the Conference, the Broncos are 6th.
In 2011-2012, the Broncos won the season series 3-1 with the lone win for Lethbridge coming on December 17th (their Teddy Bear Toss night) when they skated away with a 4-1 victory in front of 4,100 fans. Leading the way against Swift last year were veterans Russ Maxwell (1G, 2A) and Graham Hood (2G, 1A) who both have 3 points.
